Casey Blackwell
Casey Blackwell, Senior Partner at Publicity Prose, LLC, has more than 10 years of experience in literary publicity, working with Big Five publishers and indie presses, Newbery Honor and Caldecott Medal winners, bestselling authors and debuts. Casey is skilled in managing all aspects of a national campaign.
In previous roles, she has worked with publishers such as Harper Voyager, Harlequin TEEN, Peachtree Publishing, Abrams, National Geographic Kids, Running Press, Beaming Books, and Feeding Minds Press, as well as authors including Barbara Dee, Catherine Gilbert Murdock, Robin Talley, Margaret Peterson Haddix, N.E. Davenport, David Wiesner, Robb Pearlman, Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich, and Jackson Pearce.
Casey graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Yale University, where she took her first steps into the publishing world as a young adult book blogger. Her time as a blogger, and later a bookstagrammer, gave her a first-hand and forward-thinking perspective on how best to leverage online media and digital platforms. She enjoys tracking current trends and the latest innovations in order to reach the widest audience.
An avid reader since early childhood, Casey lives in Virginia with her two chiweenies.
Brittany McElwee
After receiving her bachelor’s degree in English from the College of William & Mary, Partner Brittany McElwee started her 10+ year publishing career in New York City with an unpaid Editorial internship and a bartending job. She fulfilled her lifelong dream (to be surrounded by kidlit at work) at Scholastic, where she specialized in marketing, event planning, and sales support. In addition to hosting events for authors like Jennifer Nielsen and Trent Reedy, Brittany led special projects such as establishing the inaugural newsletter for Scholastic Book Fairs' regional Sales team.
In pursuit of her first love, Brittany completed her Editing Certificate at the University of Chicago Graham School. As a freelance editor, Brittany established a network of producers, journalists, editors, writers, bloggers, podcasters, and educators all over the world.
Brittany lives in Virginia with her husband, a horde of cats, and one gecko. She loves coffee and cliff jumping and can typically be found making mischief with her niblings.
